Anjani putra Hanuman bachpan se hi asadharan the — pavan dev ka ashirwad unke ang-ang mein tha. Ek subah mata Anjani kahin gayi huyi thin aur nanhe Hanuman ko bhookh lagi. Tabhi unki drishti udayachal par chamakte Surya par padi. Baal-man ne socha — itna bada, itna sundar pakka hua phal! Bas phir kya tha — ek hi chhalang mein wo aakash ki or ud chale.
Devlok mein halchal
Nanha balak seedha Surya ki or badhta ja raha tha. Dev ghabraye. Devraj Indra ne use rokne ke liye vajra ka prahar kiya — prahar Hanuman ki thodi (hanu) par laga aur wo murchhit ho kar dharti par aa gire. Ye dekh pavan dev krodhit ho gaye — unhone samast lok ki vayu rok li. Praniyon mein hahakar mach gaya. Tab sabhi devta bal Hanuman ke paas aaye aur ek-ek kar apne varadaan diye — agni se raksha, jal se abhay, aur aisi shakti jise koi astra na rok sake. Isi ghatna se unka naam Hanuman pada.
Shakti ke saath vinamrata
Itne varadaan pa kar bhi Hanuman ji ka jeevan ahankar se sabse door raha — yehi is katha ka asli chamatkar hai. Ve Surya dev ke paas hi shiksha lene pahunche, aur guru-dakshina mein vahi kiya jo guru ne kaha. Aage chal kar jis shakti se ve samudra langh sakte the, usi shakti ko unhone prabhu Shri Ram ki seva mein samarpit kar diya. Shakti unke liye kabhi pradarshan ki vastu nahi rahi — seva ka sadhan rahi.
Katha ka saar
Bachchon ko ye katha sunayein to do baatein zaroor batayein — pehli, Hanuman ji jaisa sahas: jo man mein aaye use paane ki nirbhay udaan. Aur doosri, Hanuman ji jaisi vinamrata: shakti kitni bhi badi ho, uska sundar upyog seva mein hi hai. Isi liye mangalvar ko bal aur buddhi dono ke liye Hanuman ji ki aaradhna hoti hai.
Hanuman, son of Anjani, was extraordinary from birth — the blessing of the wind god flowed through his every limb. One morning, with his mother away, little Hanuman grew hungry. Just then his eyes fell on the rising Sun glowing on the horizon. His child-mind decided instantly — what a large, beautiful, ripened fruit! And with a single leap, he shot into the sky.
Alarm in the heavens
The little boy kept climbing straight toward the Sun. The gods panicked. To stop him, Indra hurled his thunderbolt — it struck the child on the chin (hanu), and he fell to the earth unconscious. Seeing this, the wind god was enraged and withdrew the air from all the worlds. Every living being gasped. The gods then gathered around the child and, one by one, granted their boons — protection from fire, safety in water, and strength no weapon could withstand. From that day, the boy came to be called Hanuman.
Strength wrapped in humility
Here lies the real miracle of the story — despite such boons, Hanuman's life remained farthest from arrogance. He went to the Sun god himself to study, and offered exactly the guru-dakshina his teacher asked. In time, the same power that could leap across an ocean was placed entirely at the service of Shri Ram. For Hanuman, strength was never a thing of display — it was an instrument of seva.
The essence
When you tell this story to children, share both its lessons — first, Hanuman's daring: the fearless leap toward whatever the heart desires. And second, Hanuman's humility: however great one's power, its most beautiful use is in service. That is why Tuesday worship of Hanuman ji seeks both — strength and wisdom together.
